VBA and Excel are two separate products. VBA can be used with Word,
PowerPoint, Excel, etc
Most of these have few intrinsic math functions so it is not surprising
Excel and VBA have some overlap in functions

Computers do math using binary numbers
.. Decimal numbers have to be converted to binary and back. Within the
limitations of a fixed number of digits, one get rounding errors. So doing
the calculation in two ways can results in two values that differ by an
amount that is generally totally insignificant to the problem solver (as in
your example)

Maybe you should read up on computer science a little before offering rants
like this!
