You can do it three ways

1) If the 'number' you want to end up with is fixed length, say six
characters, then FormatCells...Custom000000 will do it
2) Format the cells as text in advance of entry
3) Prefix with a single apostrophe ('). It will not show but will treat the
entry as text

I have tried checking the zero values box but still just takes the zero
