Default Freezing Formulas Question 2

I will be more specific as to what I am trying to accomplish. We are a
cabinet company and I have made the sales people a price sheet they will use
on the spot with their laptops to calculate the charges for a customer. It
is set up as follows
Column A Column B Column C Column D
Description Quantity Price Per Unit charge for item

Doors 10 18.00 = 180.00
my formuala is (B2*C2)

This goes on for many more items and then I have it total Column D for the
total charge.

I want to be able to freeze the formulas so they can not be changed by
mistake. When I follow the instructions to freeze formulas it will no longer
let me use the spread sheet to calculate cost by entering any quantities. It
says my spread sheet is locked and I will have to unlock to use and that
defeats my purpose. I know it can be done because I have been supplied the
same type of excel worksheet by a national cabinet supplier. I need to
incorporate their ideas into other things we sell.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
