Default Excel 5.0 release C update

I currently use an HP with no problem. But I may be one of the lucky ones

I believe you're correct. Wasn't there a verse about his beard getting
wrapped around the platen by accident...

I'm not positive, but didn't Moses use that same equipment?

We're not that far behind the curve. We use only the finest Okidata
MicroLine 320 Turbo line printers with one of those new fangled? USB
ports
on them for invoicing! We do however use a parallel to USB converter
cable
on one printer to feel more at home with the past.

Oh, for the dot matrix printers of old.

Heck, maybe you could find an old IBM Selectric!

FYI :

I just finished going through every old HP driver I could think of
that
we've used before and found that the

HP LaserJet 1200 Series PCL 5e

driver will print in B&W on the 2605 and not crash Excel 5.0 if you
save
a
file!

So far so good... now comes the testing on complex stuff.

I used to own a Panasonic printer. I could install the HP Series II
Laserjet
printer driver and it would work. You may want to try that as a
second
printer.

The HP Series II LaserJet is so old, you'll lose all the nice newer
features,
but maybe you'll be able to get hardcopy out of xl95.

Good luck,

It's a new HP printer and there are no substitute drivers that can
be
used
per HP support (and my trials).
The 2605dn comes with a PCL 6 and PS driver, both crash Excel 5.0
on
saving
a file.
Excel 5.0 can successfully print to the 2605 but only in portrait
mode.
I've
tried tweaking all the properties available and unchecked use
advanced
features.
HP support was very interested in this problem and mentioned that
new
drivers may be in the works.

Have you gotten newer (or older???) versions of the printer
driver
from
HP?

If that didn't help, lots of HP's can emulate different printers.
Maybe
you
could install that printer and use that driver???

Does anyone know where I might be able to obtain the 'C' release
update
for
Excel 5.0?
I just got a HP Color LaserJet 2605dn and ANY time you save a
document
with
Excel 5.0 it causes an application fault when the HP 2605 is the
listed
printer.
The PC must be rebooted.
I'm using XP Pro and have called HP support.
They are stumped also but recommend the C release which I don't
have
for
Excel 5.0

Thanks
