Default Automatic "Match Destination Formatting"?

Thank you for your response, however, I don't know what you mean. Perhaps I
should clarify my problem.

I'm trying to cut and paste data from a webpage onto my spreadsheet.
Everytime I do this, the little autoformat icon appears and gives me 2
choices: keep formatting and match destination formatting. When I cut and
paste, the data always retains its formatting by default. What I want to
know is, how do I change the default so that the data will always match the
destination format?

Thank-you very much for your help!

Depends on what you mean by "automatic".

<Paste Special <Values
will retain the formatting of the destination cell.
