To find out the number of months, you would use this formula...

=(YEAR(NOW())-YEAR(A1))*12+MONTH(NOW())-MONTH(A1)

What you need to do is put ="Value of the car when purchased"-("the
monthly rent"*(YEAR(NOW())-YEAR(A1))*12+MONTH(NOW())-MONTH(A1)

Make sure you format the cell as general
