Default invoice amounts in 2 columns?

on my paper invoice, it has 2 distinct columns. I can only have a figure like
38.50 (in excel) not 38 50 to show up in the 2 separate columns but
still be still classed as one number in excel so i can do formulas etc! any
ideas?
