Default Transfer text w/o Copy&Paste

Does anyone know of a software program or add-in that will allow you to use
your courser or pointer to select text and have it automatically input that
text into a Word or Excel document? Such that, if you had your screen split
with a PDF document and Excel you could "highlight" the text on the PDF and
without using a Copy/Paste function have it appear on the Excel document
(some sort of OCR may also be necessary).
