Default Date Format Issues Access to Excel

Instead of cut and paste create a query in Access which pulls out the records
you want then click once on the query to select it and choose the Analyse it
with MS Excel button on the Acces toolbar (may show a Word icon, click the
drop down arrow for Excel option) If you want all records then click once on
the table and click button.

However if you have it as a text format in Access and want to retain it as
text then you can't expect Excel to apply a date format I'm afraid

I have to cut n paste a series of rows from Access to Excel.
In the access database, there is a date field like 26/08/2006.
It pastes into Excel OK
I then want to change the way it looks to a format yyyymmdd. It needs to
bejust a text cell and not date type.
However - I cannot get it to lose its access format and consequently can't
get the data in the way I want it.
Any ideas please.
