When I type the number 1050 in a spreadsheet cell and hit Enter, Excel

try 1049, 1051, and any other number and Excel does not change them. When

type 1050*10 and hit Enter, we get the correct result. We also get the
correct result when dividing 1050. This started to occur after updating
the
operating system from Windows 98 to Windows XP Pro. The Office suite is
MS-Office 2000 Professional with all of the updates and the OS is Windows
XP
Pro with SP2 and updates. The computer has a Pentium 3.0GHz CPU. We
checked
the cell format settings and they are the same as those on an identical
computer that was also upgraded to XP Pro. Any help is appreciated.

Tools/ AutoCorrect Options
Look for the offending line & delete it.
