There is likely a Folder created in your Excel (Program) installation
called
"XLStart". Find it (with your Explorer program) and see if you have a
file
Called Book.xlt.
If you do:
Open it with Excel - make any and all modifications you wish to it
(meaning
Doctor-it-up so that it appears exactly the way you want a new workbook
to
Look (including such as in the Page Setup, the Dir Name and the File
name, etc). Now Do a File-SaveAs and make sure you save it to the same
folder (XLStart) and the file extention is .xlt -- so "Book.xlt"
Close Excel, and reopen -- your new "and improved" new wb should have
the
Characteristics you want.
If you do not have:
Create a new wb (from scratch) doing the doctor-up part and just save it
The the existing XLStart folder as Book.xlt
That should do it.

Hey
I know you can insert the dir and name of the file as a footer in a
sheet, but can this be set as standard? so when i make a new excel file
it automatically adds the footer?
thanks
