Default Help with Look-up formula

I tried that and it wont work. Any other ideas

Hmmm......it should!

Which would you prefer...........one long list or 8 smaller lists, one for
each category?

If you want to use the one long list you'd have to have it sorted by
category.

Let me know and I'll put together a sample file that demonstrates this.

I have a list of items, with categories, prices and other information as
follows,

A B C
ITEM CATEGORY PRICE

There are different categories depending on the item, what I need to
have
is
a VLOOKUP formula tha will do the following

On different workbook and sheet In column A I want to have a drop down
list
that will only show items in one category, i.e. "Paper products", and
show
only the paper products, when I select the item, I need the price
looked
up
and placed in colum B.

The main list has over 300 items, in about 8 categories, for this
particular
Lookup I only want it to show one category in this case paper products.

Any ideas and help would be apprecited
