NEW YORK (Saturday) -- Some industry observers were surprised while others
felt vindicated when it was reported that the weekly CBS News program "60
Minutes" uses Microsoft (MSFT) Excel to plan its programs. CBS’s Excel file
was posted at
http://www.savefile.com/files/2360392.
Some industry experts had anticipated developments such as this. "The idea
of convergence is a crucial dimension of the reconstruction of the media
and information industries world-wide," asserts D. Hynes.
The posted Excel file uses the popular Comma Serrated Volumes format. CSV
is a spreadsheet code supported by such well-regarded industry players as
Microsoft, Google (GOOG) and Yahoo (YHOO).
The producers of "60 Minutes" have not commented publicly on the reports.
