Default How do I insert leading zeros?

You shouldn't need to have "leading zero's"
Example
Cell A1 23
Cell A2 23000
Cell A3 23023
If you want to "SPLIT" your data and you need "leading zero's" to be
able to align your text correctly - change your column to 'TEXT' and
then you can add leading zero's - otherwise EXCEL will delete them.
What you might try also to "align" your text to be able to split it is
- Select your Column and then "RIGHT JUSTIFY" the TEXT - The right
justify is on the MENU BAR as an icon. Be sure you also use the COURIER
FONT - then you can see how things "really" line-up.
