If you think of all the things you can do to a workbook, the idea of writing
something that would synchronize files sounds pretty impossible to me.

You can insert rows/columns, insert cells and shift right/left, insert
worksheets, delete worksheets. Add pictures, ...

But if you wanted to compare two worksheets cell by cell (a1 with a1, x99 with
x99), you could use a program written by Myrna Larson and Bill Manville.
