How can I verify that an Excel file will work with older versions

I have been asked to check that a file were are sending out will work with
older copies of Excel (at least to version 97). Unfortunately I do not
have
the older copies to test with. Is there anything which I can download to
check this file out . I have saved it as Excel 97 - Excel 2003 but wanted
to
verify it before posting.
Send it to one person and then call him one the phone.....
