Hi Ken,
if you use Name Manager (developed by myself and Jan Karel Pieterse) you can
see and edit all the characters in the name formula (as long as there are
less than about 256 characters).

Hi ,
I have a rather long formula which has been given a name.
I need to edit it occasionally but when I choose INSERT - NAME - DEFINE
and
choose the "name" the formula appears in the refer box as expected.
However
only the first 63 characters can be edited. I cannot scroll along to the
remaining characters. At the moment I am having to rewrite the formula
again.
Anyway around this without resorting to writing the formula into a cell
rather than the defined name?
Ken
