One way ..

Assume you have created the lowercase alpha series:
a, b, c, d ..

Enter the first letter in say B2: a
*Right-click* on the fill handle
(i.e. the bottom right corner of B2)
and drag down to B28

When you release the right-click choose "Fill series"
