Once you show the File|Open dialog, you can select the file to open.

But instead of clicking on the Open button in that dialog, use the little arrow
that's on that Open button and choose "open and repair".

But I don't think that this will help you. Your file isn't corrupted so that it
needs repair, it's been written over.
