So yes, you can have both OE and Outlook running. You may not WANT to set
up
your email account in OE, though. Else you may have trouble knowING where
your
messages are.

(just some Dave to English translations)

Outlook doesn't read newsgroups. But there's an icon on one of the
toolbars (or
can be added to one of the toolbars) that points at newsgroups.

It starts up Outlook Express.

How can I tell if I have access to the NNTP servers? If not then
where to get

Not sure if I understand how Outlook comes into the picture but
I'll do some
research.
Obviously I Know not any other avenue.

How does one tell if there question is being addressed or not?
Once I see my
post go into the third page of posts it says to me that I may or
may not get
a response. It then makes me want to repost and I know you all
would rather
we stay put on the same post.

If you waste your time using Microsoft's newsgroup portal, you
get what
you deserve.

Newsreaders always do a better job with newsgroups than web
portals. If
you have access to outside NNTP servers, use Outlook Express to
connect
to msnews.microsoft.com. Otherwise, use Google Groups, which
sorts
threads by most recent activity. It's also easy to search for
your own
posts using Google Groups search. And posting via Google doesn't
require #@$% Passport sign-in.

And, yes, remain in the same thread. Most of the people answering
your
questions don't use the Microsoft newsgroup portal, so they have
no
problem seeing your thread (if they want to). Create too many
threads,
and you *REDUCE* the likelihood anyone will respond.

Also, have patience.
