*Just* changing the format will *not* solve the problem!
*After* the format is changed, then the formula must be re-entered.
This *does not* mean that you must re-type the formula.
Select the cell, hit <F2, then <Enter, and the formula will then
calculate.
If you have a few cells, you can change the format and re-enter the formula
with these keystrokes:
Select all the "bad" cells, then:
<Ctrl <Shift <~ once (shortcut to format to "General"),
Then <F2 <Enter for each cell selected.
