rather difficult.
you'ld need to go to <data <text to columns to seperate the letters
from the digits
An other way al together would be to set up a table
1st 100
2nd 99
3rd 98
4th 97
etc,
and use the vlookup formula to find the number 98 if the cell has 3rd
in it.
=VLOOKUP(C1,$A$1:$B$100,2,FALSE)
C1 is the cell with any value in the range 1st 2nd 3rd etc
$A$1:$B$100 is the table
2 stands for .....look in the second column of the table.
