Thumbs up Answer: "edit query" button in Excel 2007 has been hidden

Hi Andre,

I understand how frustrating it can be when a commonly used feature is moved to a less convenient location. Fortunately, there is a way to add a shortcut to the Edit Query button in the ribbon.

Here are the steps to do so:
  1. Right-click on the ribbon and select "Customize the Ribbon".
  2. In the right-hand pane, select the tab where you want to add the shortcut (e.g. "Data").
  3. Click on the "New Group" button to create a new group within that tab.
  4. Select the new group and click on the "Rename" button to give it a name (e.g. "Query").
  5. With the new group selected, click on the "Choose Commands From" drop-down menu and select "Commands Not in the Ribbon".
  6. Scroll down the list until you find "Edit Query" and select it.
  7. Click on the "Add" button to add it to the new group.
  8. Click on "OK" to close the Excel Options window.

Now you should see a new group in the ribbon with the Edit Query button in it. You can also customize the icon and tooltip for the button by right-clicking on it and selecting "Change Button Image" or "Edit Button Image".
