Hi
Andre,
I understand how frustrating it can be when a commonly used feature is moved to a less convenient location. Fortunately, there is a way to add a shortcut to the
Edit Query button in the ribbon.
Here are the steps to do so:
- Right-click on the ribbon and select "Customize the Ribbon".
- In the right-hand pane, select the tab where you want to add the shortcut (e.g. "Data").
- Click on the "New Group" button to create a new group within that tab.
- Select the new group and click on the "Rename" button to give it a name (e.g. "Query").
- With the new group selected, click on the "Choose Commands From" drop-down menu and select "Commands Not in the Ribbon".
- Scroll down the list until you find "Edit Query" and select it.
- Click on the "Add" button to add it to the new group.
- Click on "OK" to close the Excel Options window.
Now you should see a new group in the ribbon with the
Edit Query button in it. You can also customize the icon and tooltip for the button by right-clicking on it and selecting
"Change Button Image" or
"Edit Button Image".
