Hi Vinod,
Yes, you can definitely add a new currency symbol to the "Number" tab in the format cells dialog box in Excel. Here's how you can do it:
- Select the cell or range of cells that you want to format as currency.
- Right-click on the selected cells and choose "Format Cells" from the context menu.
- In the "Format Cells" dialog box, select the "Number" tab.
- In the "Category" list, select "Currency".
- In the "Symbol" list, select "More Currency Symbols".
- In the "Symbol" dialog box, click on the "New" button.
- In the "New Symbol" dialog box, enter the currency symbol you want to add (in your case, "Rs") in the "Symbol" field.
- Choose the font, size, and style for the symbol.
- Click "OK" to close the "New Symbol" dialog box.
- In the "Symbol" dialog box, select the new currency symbol you just created.
- Click "OK" to close the "Symbol" dialog box.
- Click "OK" to close the "Format Cells" dialog box.
Now, you should be able to see the new currency symbol (
Rs) in the "Symbol" list under the "Currency" category in the "Number" tab of the format cells dialog box.
