Yes, I just ran a simple msgbox command -
MsgBox Word.Application.Version

and it's 12.0 - so this should be much easier than it is...

Please explain how you got this MsgBox result; -was it in ref to your
automated instance? Was Word12 running at the time? What version opens
when you double-click a .doc file in FileExplorer?
