is it possible to store outlook user name in excel file
Hi
i am sending mail with attachment to several ppl and i have listed their
name in one my sheets in the attachment sent (excel sheet). based on the name
their status is known like 'manager grade1, 2, 3, finance manager 1, 2, 3,
zonal manager 1,2,3 like that" for everyone some location / region is alloted
and i want the filter automatically and show that location related row items.
so i want to capture their name in "outlook/express" before @ as after @ is
only company name
is it possible ?

the user name ? there may be a misunderstanding here.
the PC's user name will be different to the pst address.
in the worksheet's open event add:
'unprotect the sheet if necessary
worksheets("Uniq").range("c3") = Environ$("Username")
'protect the sheet if necessary
Th ecode you use to send teh sheet presumably has the mail addressee in a
cell somewhere. so if t hats the name you need, then use
sName = worksheets("????").range("???") ' location of address
sName = LEFT(sName,instr(sName,"@")-1)

Hi
I am sending an excel file, which has a protected sheet, thro' outlook
the receiver may have outlook or express
When he opens excel file i want to store the user name in outlook/express
name before " at worksheets("Uniq").range("c3").value
As i am enabling to him a pull down menu with eligible locations data only
(from a protected sheet). the data sheet and Uniq sheet are protected sheets.
thanks
