Do it all in the macro which users run from a button or menu.

Sub sortit()
ActiveSheet.Unprotect Password:="justme"

'your sorting code goes here and does the sort

ActiveSheet.Protect Password:="justme"
End Sub

You can hide the code from users by locking the project with a unique
password.
