Set up the default chart the way you like it to look.
Make sure the chart is active.
Menu Bar Chart Chart Type
Select Custom Types, click User Defined radio button, and click on
Add.
Give your Custom Chart a name that makes sense.
Click on Set as Default, and future charts will default to this
setting.
A word of caution, the chart title will fill in as you have in the
default, the axis scale minimum, maximum, major unit, etc will all be
set to what you set up in the default chart. Virtually all of the
settings will be set to your original chart.
Have several user defined charts, so you can select the one that fits
the situation and set it as the default for a given situation.
You can insert a button on the Standard (or Formatting) Toolbar that
will change an active chart to the current default chart type.
If you don't know how to do this, right-click on any toolbar and select
customize. Select Commands Charting and scroll down to find the
Default Chart icon. Drag it to your toolbar and close the customize
dialog box.
