You possibly misspelt caption, same as in your post?

capton is not a recognised command, so it will not work, but should also
result in a runtime error.

From a code module:

Activesheet.shapes("ToggleButton1").select works,

but

Activesheet.shapes("ToggleButton1").capton = "New"

does not!!!!
