Hi Ron:
Thanks! I think I read through that example about a dozen times
overnight, but it didn't sink in. (I'm gettin' too old for these
all-nighter programming sessions!) Now I understand how the routine
seemingly auto-registers itself into the menu!

You can see how I do it here
http://www.rondebruin.nl/qat2.htm
The button I add manual in this example is saved in the file.
If you open the file your button is also there

Hi Ron:
Thanks for the info. I'm still wondering, though, how you managed to
get your AddIn to self-register into the QAT.

Hi Jon
You try this example
http://www.rondebruin.nl/qat.htm
You can simple edit the menu in this example and copy your code in it.
No need to create a new add-in
If you want to see the steps see

Hi all:
Trying here to use Ron's sample code for creating an Excel menu of
macro
entries that would exist in a single AddIn. I downloaded his "For My
Add-in.xlam" and enabled it as an AddIn. It worked wonderfully. I
then
tried to create my own code for creating a similar menu and have had
nothing
but problems.
Questions:
1) What causes the small green arrow icon to appear on the menu bar
when
the AddIn is instantiated? I can't find this example anywhere!
2) I have seven macros that need to be accessible from the menu. I
simply
hard-coded the references since there have been seven items for this
menu
for at least the last 10 or more years (the application is legacy
from
Lotus
1-2-3). They seem to add, and the CommandBar appears to be present,
but
I
cannot make it visible. Doing so generates an error.
3) How can I get the menu item (the green arrow icon) to appear like
it
does in Ron's sample?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Jon
