When you select C1 you'll see a tiny square at the bottom right corner.
Drag that down to copy the formula.

Just realised that it was copying the formula correctly but the result
displayed was the same as in C1. Pressing F9 to get it to recalulate has
sorted it! Kinda wierd but sorted.
