If you have totals in the row below the subtotals, the subtotals row
will be hidden when you apply the AutoFilter.
Maybe you could leave a blank row between the table and the subtotals.
Then, remove the AutoFilter, and reapply it.

When I filter on a specific the data value in one column that I want to
