Can I copy the whole sheet (not just a range), then create the new
workbook with the new sheet?
Did you try? I don't guess so, because that was the answer. If a chart is
embedded in the sheet and uses data on the sheet, when the sheet is copied,
it contains a copy of the chart, which uses data on the copied sheet. Paste
the new data on the copied sheet, and the chart is ready to go.

Another issue with copying a range to a sheet in a new workbook... there
is a
chart located on the sheet I'm copying from, located within the range that
I'm copying. When I paste the range into the new sheet in the new
workbook,
the chart doesn't come with it. What do I have to do to get the chart in
the
new workbook, using source data in the new workbook rather than the
original
one? Can I copy the whole sheet (not just a range), then create the new
workbook with the new sheet? Will it include the chart?
Thanks for all your help!
