Just a suggsetion. Try

sqlstring = "exec emputilization " & _
Format(Range("A1").Value, "\#dd mmmm yyyy\#") & "," & _
Format(Range("B1").Value, "\#dd mmmm yyyy\#")

Sheet "abc" : A1 is the startdate 1/1/2007 and A2 is the enddate
