I use xl2003 and the arrows were gone when I used:

sub StopFilter
ActiveSheet.AutoFilterMode = False
end sub

Maybe you could use something like:

With ActiveSheet
If .FilterMode Then
.ShowAllData
End If

once again.

The whole thing works fine in 2003 though!

There is no protection in the code or on the sheet and no
out-of-the-ordinary code is used.

Strange?
