I saved it in my .bat file after Gord posted it:

I also like this simple way Tom

This in a .bat file

@echo off
dir %1 /-p /b /o:gn /s "%temp%\Listing.txt"
start notepad "%temp%\Listing.txt"
exit

You can add this option to the shortcut in Windows so you can run it for the active folder
Dave and Gord posted this I believe

I can't find the KB that show you how to add the shortcut to run the bat file in windows
I am sure that Dave can find it

Hi ,

Ive seen numerous examples using a file directory to get file paths etc. But
I was wondering if there is code that will build a spreadsheet that lists
just the different folders and subfolders on a particular drive that the user
chooses. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Ben Z.
