Default Program for Fan Balancing

Have a look at www.solver.com for a tutorial on using Solver. You need to
lean about 'linear programming'. Then come back with questions
best wishes

Hi,
I'm new to Excel and need to create a program that will sort fan
blades and locate them for the best balancing situation.
For example, I'm currently having to build (2), (6) blade fans.
The blades would be labeled "A" thru "F"
I have 25 blades to choose from with moment weights varying from 395.1
in. lbs. - 401.9 in. lbs.

The criteria for each fan is to have 1.0 in. lbs differential on the
assembled fan to limit the amount of balance weight needed.

The inputs I would like to have are as follows:

1. Number of fans to build
2. Number of blades
3. Maximum differential
4. Availabile blade weights(200 entries available)

The results would be posted as such:

Fan- 1 Fan-
2
Differential- .2 Differential- .5
Blade A- 399.0 Blade A- 399.5
Blade B- 400.0 Blade B- 400.0
Blade C- 398.5 Blade C- 398.5
Blade D- 399.0 Blade D- 399.0
Blade E- 400.0 Blade E- 400.0
Blade F- 398.3 Blade F- 398.5

If possible, can an option be for the first availble result to meet
the differential, or the best result?

The fan models may be from (3) to (32) blades.

Any help would be greatly appreciatied.

Thanks, Joe
