If Explore cannot read the files either you might need to take the
diskette to another pc, and get the files transferred to a newly
formatted disk.
I use Excel on floppy drives, memory sticks, CD's and network drives
without problems except for those problems that also reflect in other
programs.
An older model PC/Laptop is usually best for this purpose, reason
totally unknown.
