to the stacks, format third series in the legend same as the custom bars,
delete the first series from the legend. Name the second series "nominal"
(even though it includes data for both)

Yes sir, I have. This is excellent information and I have used a good
portion of it already. However, using this example as a point of
reference,
I need to put two bars for Task1, two for Task 2, and so on all the way
through Task 9. So that one bar is for the nominal schedule estimate and

This is just an example of what I am striving for. Plotting both schedule
results on the same chart within the worksheet. I have tried about eight
times using a number of variations to get there and have nearly concluded
that I'll have to do this in VBA to get it to work.
