Is it possible to add a helper column? Then, in an unused cell (e.g.
IV1) enter a quote mark.

In your helper column enter the formula:

=$IV$1&B1 (where B1 is the first cell with your desired text to
update)

Copy this to the other cells needing updating.

You can then CopyPaste SpecialValues to overwrite the old cells.
Finally, delete the helper column.
