Assume column B has the checkboxes for 1 mg vials and column C has the
checkboxes for 10 mg vials.

Since you said:

I put a checkbox in each cell and linked it to the cell.

To count all the checboxes that are check in column B for 1 mg vials:

=COUNTIF(B:B,TRUE)

Do the same for column C and the 10 mg vials.
