Is it a typo that you have 2 "jen" in the unique column?
Anyway try this *array* formula in D2, and copy down as needed:
=MIN(IF($A$2:$A$12=C2,$B$2:$B$12))

Array formulas are entered using CSE, <Ctrl <Shift <Enter, instead of the
regular <Enter, which will *automatically* enclose the formula in curly
brackets, which *cannot* be done manually.
