Default Pivot Table Nightmare Urgent help required

Hi peeps
This is blowing my mind,

i have a pivot table that calculates multiple fields but the one i am
interested in is the Date.

i would like to be able to select the Dates in a worksheet and then this
worksheet update the pivot table to show the selected dates. as Months

is this possible? is Q1

and whats the Code? Q2

the date is automatically created from an OLAP Cube so sorting the
information before passing it through the Pivot is not possible and also the
dates are split into years, quarters and then months.

Please help
