Default Programming Funk...Any help appreciated

One way, assuming that the WorksheetB cells are contiguous:

In WorksheetA:

D2: =IF(ISNA(MATCH(C2,WorksheetB!$A$1:$A$4,FALSE)),"", "Selected")

Copy down to D284.

Good morning all. I have an Excel spreadsheet with 2 worksheets. The
first work sheet (worksheet A) I have a list (c2:c284) of names. On
the other worksheet (worksheet B) I have a dropdown box that includes
values from the list on worksheet A (data validation:lists). There are
4 cells in worksheet B that have this dropdown box with the selection of
names.

Here is what I am trying to do...Whenever I select a name from any of
the 4 cells in Worksheet B, I want to place the word \"Selected\" next
to the value within the list on Worksheet A.

I have been through the mill working with VLOOKUP, MATCH, INDEX, LOOKUP
and other functions. Nothing seems to work.

Thanks you all for any and all advice.

:)
