I don't know why you're seeing your templates under the New section of the
task pane. All I see is "Blank workbook" and "From existing workbook". To
get to my templates (local and network) I have to pick "On my computer"
(under Templates) or those listed under Recently used templates. I have to
think seeing them where you do is some kind of screw-up and perhaps that
explains why they are non-functional.

|I had a network templates folder set up in Office XP and when I clicked
| file/new and got the task pane the templates in this folder were listed.
If
| I clicked on one of them, a new workbook opened based upon that template.
|
| I have now upgraded to office 2003, and the New Workbook taskpane shows my
| templates under the heading "NEW". However, even though they appear to be
| "clickable" (I get a hand when I mouse over) nothing happens when I click.
| NOTHING.
|
| I have worked around the problem by reading every posting on this forum
and
| finding one that told me how to get them to show up under "Recently Used
| Templates". So now they show up twice on my "New Workbook" task pane,
once
| under "NEW" and lower down under "Recently Used". But the ones at the top
| (under "NEW") still do not work.
|
| Can anyone tell me why, or how to fix this? It isn't urgent anymore,
since
| I found the work around. It just bugs me.
