Data|Subtotal inserts formulas that look like =subtotal().

If you insert/delete rows, you may need to remove the subtotals and reapply.
But that would apply to the macro code, too.

But is there a reason you don't want to use Data|Subtotals? It might be
sufficient and it's built into excel.
