In a .csv file everything is saved as text, and remains as text.
If you're importing the text file back into XL, and you want XL to
interpret the field as text rather than a number you can use the
Data/Get External Data/Import Text File... wizard (with WinXL, you'll
have to change the extension from .csv to .txt) to designate the field
as text rather than General.
