Default Assigning numeric value to text in drop-down menu

What you are describing is a 2 column combobox. Create the combobox and in
its properties set the columncount to 2. If you want to hide the numeric
values from your users set its column's width to zero. To refer to the
selected value from code it is Combobox1.Column(0) for the first column,
Combobox1.Column(1) for the second column.
