My macro knowledge isn't great, but an alternative option may be to
create a hyperlink. (This is something that I use regularly and works
for me).
I am assuming that the public folder is always available.
Copy the hyperlink address in outlook then insert the hyperlink to a
cell in excel.
I'm sure someone will come up with the coding sooner or later, but for
the time being this might work just as well for you.
