Default End Of Month Data Only

I think I need more information.

I frequently keep daily information on one sheet, keep a running
month-to-date on a second sheet, and a running year-to-date on a third
sheet in the same workbook. These could be on the same spreadsheet,
just additional columns for the running totals.

Then use the EOMONTH function to find the information you need.
Col A Col B Col C Col D
Date Daily Val MTD Val YTD Val
05/25/05 6,179 6,179 6,179
05/26/05 6,182 12,361 18,540
05/27/05 6,184 18,545 37,085
05/28/05 6,184 24,729 61,814
05/29/05 24,729 86,543
05/30/05 24,729 111,272
05/31/05 6,185 30,914 142,186
06/01/05 6,189 6,189 148,375
06/02/05 6,189 12,378 160,753
06/03/05 6,185 18,563 179,316
06/04/05 6,187 24,750 204,066
06/05/05 24,750 228,816
06/06/05 24,750 253,566
06/07/05 24,750 278,316
06/08/05 6,190 30,940 309,256
06/09/05 30,940 340,196

VLOOKUP(EOMONTH(A3,0),A3:D18,3,FALSE)
yields 30,914
